We work with Walawaani Way in Bodalla, on Yuin Country, to support families choosing conservation burial. Together, we help create personal farewells that connect remembrance with care for the land.

Mycelium coffins and biodegradable urns

As a Loop Biotech Founding Partner, we’re bringing mycelium coffins and biodegradable urns into the choices available through Funeral Commons. These offer families another way to reflect their connection with nature in their farewell.

Woven coffins and community connection

Zimmi weaves coffins using natural materials, including invasive vines, giving these plants a new purpose. Our collaboration brings together craftsmanship, community and a more circular approach to funeral care, through woven coffins and opportunities to learn and make together.

Reclaimed timber coffins

We’re working with Among the Trees, a timber reuse social enterprise, to develop coffins made from reclaimed timber. Together, we’re exploring coffin-making workshops that bring people together to share skills, rethink materials and take a more hands-on role in funeral care.

Living memorials

We’re collaborating with Evergreen Memorials to give families another way to remember through nature following cremation. Their work offers an option for those who would like cremated ashes to become part of a living memorial.

Thoughtful funeral flowers

We collaborate with Bold Botanicals to offer personal floral arrangements with an emphasis on sustainable floristry practices, including mainly locally grown flowers and no floral foam.

Psychotherapy and emotional support

Grief and emotional support are part of our broader approach to funeral care. Our collaboration with Llumus connects families with psychotherapy support for grief, loss and adjusting to life after a death.

Shroud making and workshops

Shroud artist Michele Elliot creates biodegradable shrouds from natural materials and leads workshops teaching people how to make their own. Our collaboration invites people to learn practical skills, bring personal meaning to a farewell and take a more active role in funeral care.
