Conservation burial ground
Protected bushland near Bodalla on the NSW South Coast, set aside for natural burial and land regeneration rather than a traditional cemetery.
No embalming, no synthetics
Bodies are returned to the earth in biodegradable materials, free of embalming chemicals, plastics, varnishes or concrete vaults, so the soil can regenerate.
Open for families to visit
GPS coordinates and location details are provided after burial, so families are always welcome to return to the site.

Where is Walawaani Way?
Walawaani Way is located near Bodalla, on the NSW South Coast. We coordinate transfer from Greater Sydney for families who need it, and can help with travel planning if you would like to attend a burial in person.
Can I visit after the burial?
Yes. Families are welcome to visit at any time. Conservation burial grounds are protected bushland, so the area remains natural, peaceful and accessible. GPS coordinates and location information are provided after burial.
What does a conservation burial involve?
Conservation burials avoid embalming chemicals, synthetic materials, plastics, varnishes and concrete vaults. The body is returned to the earth in biodegradable materials, allowing the soil to regenerate. We also offer carbon offsetting through tree planting at Walawaani Way.
